Results for Month 1 of 4

April is done and it was good! Taking on the second paper route has definitely been difficult. 3-4 hrs of work per night: walking, running, getting in and out of the car. Waking up Monday-Friday at 2am, Saturday and Sunday at 4am. Crazy how I now consider waking up at 4am sleeping in! It means having to go to bed real early which doesn't actually happen every night. Thank goodness my kids still nap during the day!

Results: I've lost 16 lb., leaving me 24 more lb. to go in the next 3 months.

New challenge: Instead of 40 lb., I'm making it 60lb. So 44 lb. to go for the remaining 3 months.

By the way, the 4 months is because I only plan on doing this job for that long and it's the minimum amount of time on contract. I couldn't imagine working these hours for a longer period of time. For now, it's bridging a gap that I hope will be filled 10x by the success of my business.

After the 4 months I'll have to replace the exercise with a 1 hour of jogging everyday. My kids will enjoy that in the stroller!

40 lbs in 4 months

I'm challenging myself to losing 40 lbs in 4 months!

The inspiration behind this is that I just started work as an independent courier for a courier company, meaning I'll be getting a lot of exercise! I just completed 3 days of training. Tomorrow is my first day of delivering newspapers on my own. It's going to be great exercise delivering 7 days a week. Although, my hubby will act as a backup so I'll get a couple of days off once in a while.

For the next two weeks I will be delivering 1-2 hours every day. Once I've learnt this first route well, I'll be taking on an additional route that will take another 1-2 hours. Surely with 2-4 hours of exercise per day, I should see pounds melt away! Plus once I get home I will do 15-20 minutes of light weight lifting in the amenities building of my apartment complex but only every second day or so. Out of the 3 days so far, I've done the weight lifting once. So tomorrow should be my second weight lifting session.

In addition to the exercise, I will be replacing one meal every day with Melaleuca's Attain shake. So tasty! I'll also take Melaleuca's women's Vitality vitamins and Replenex for healthy joints.

I found this cool weight loss tool on Pinterest that will serve as visual encouragement too! Using glass beads in a vase to represent "pounds to go" and "pounds lost". I have more than 40 beads in the "to go" vase because my long term goal is more, and I already have 6 beads in my "lost" vase because I've already lost 6!

So here I go. Woot woot!

Just Another Stay at Home Mom

In November 2012 I quit my full time downtown office job to stay at home with my boys.

My 2 boys, Leylund age three and Koen age one are just amazing. They're pretty easy and well behaved boys. Leylund is summed up as a considerate, kind hearted boy. He's so caring, always makes sure we're all okay. I'd say Koen has followed suit, his big brother doing a great job of showing him the way. Koen copies everything his big brother does, Leylund's own personal shadow. I can picture just how great they will grow up to be. I look forward to every moment!

My hubby is a great father and absolutely loving husband. We married in 2008. Donald is known for his smarts, interest in cars, trains, music and hockey. What I love most about him... how kind, gentle and smart he is, but most of all, I love how much he loves me. I'm very lucky that we found each other.

As for me, I'm just another stay at home mom and enjoying every bit of it. I have an at home business with Melaleuca that I'm working on building. I'm also an assistant organizer for a local moms meetup group where I participate in and host events for moms and their kids/families. We just hosted an awesome playdate yesterday, 6 parents and 10 kids. Lots of fun! For extra income and saving up for our summer holidays I've taken up a newspaper route. I have my first night of training today. The thought of delivering papers in the middle of the night, not so appealing, but the pay is pretty good. I'll at least do it for 4 months and see from there.

Things are slowly falling into place as I'm settling into my stay at home mom routine. I started this blog as part of an ambition kick that I feel I need. I can easily lose track of the days now that I'm home with the boys.

I hope you enjoy reading my future posts!
